So this is my first attempt at making a dress with no pattern, or not much of one anyway. I referenced the pattern used to make my daughter’s top and previous dress and then drafted a pattern using newspaper to make this one. It didn’t turn out as well as I would’ve liked, a bit wider than I thought also. But I learned a lot about construction, because of the ton of mistakes I made :), and also what a tremendous help a dress form would be when wanting to go it on your own. I am proud of the fact that is is fully lined :).
Cotton, fabric leftover from my daughter's quilt and some from my grandmother's stash. Buttons that were either my great aunt's or great grandmother's.
New Look! pattern for reference and me :)
