Description

Shift dress in Navy/Maroon striped wool fabric, based on Butterick B5235. I decided to reverse the vertical darts on the front and back to add a slight twist and tacked each dart in place using a tiny button. This was a lovely pattern to work with, producing a simple but elegant result. I fully lined the dress and inserted an invisible zip – slightly challenging to keep the stripes perfectly matched throughout. I intend to make the jacket – at some point but not to match this dress. I am very pleased with the finished result and the fit and will definitely use this pattern again.

Material Notes

Beautiful ex designer, wool suiting fabric from Ditto Fabrics (my favourite online supplier).
