When I saw those red ruby shorts (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/ruby-red-shorts) from zozowahine I felt inspired to make my own.
I wanted to make a pair of shorts for some time now, but never dared to try because of the difficulty level .
I took the pattern from burda easy fashion (spring/summer 2009): http://www.burdafashion.com/de/Magazine/3A_Shorts/1270777-1694951-1694953-1694983.html
And to make the challenge even more difficult, I used striped fabric ^^
Unfortunately they are a bit tight, I have to drink water instead of coke from now on ;-)
some sort of stretchy cotton, buttons and a zipper

You’ve inspired me to make a pair of my own for the summer!
Now if only I could decide whether to try patterning them myself, or find a glorious ready pattern for highwaisted pinup short shorts…

Maybe you could try a regular shorts pattern and alter it into a highwaisted one?
I’m already thinking about making another pair of shorts, but this time with suspenders/ braces, like this one:

, but highwaisted of course ;-)

Thank you ^^
I fell completly in love with white/ red striped fabric when I saw Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett’s fantasy dresses are sooo adorable), so I searched and searched without even knowing what I’m going to do with it, once I had it o.Ô
luckily I stumbled upon this idea ;-)

forget about confidence, just try to make them!
It’s a bit of work, but you’re soo relieved when you’re finished, that you think, you can do anything ^^
Trust me, I speak from experience ;-)
The best thing to get started, is to be inspired… that does sound corny, right o.Ô
