I didn’t alter this much; I made it very slightly longer, shortened the sleeves and added the cuffs/sleeve bands at my mother’s suggestion. And I added the neckline filler because it felt just a bit too low. I’m pleased with the way it turned out though the linen material is horrible to iron and doesn’t stay ironed more than a minute, as you can see.
My mother's old skirt which she didn't want - I unpicked it to turn it into another skirt but it had so much fabric I thought I would make it into a dress.
My mum for the skirt and the sleeve suggestion.
My friend for the photography.

I wouldn’t worry that the dress seems like it needs ironing – it looks gorgeous that way!

i agree with caitybek on the filler…and what she says about stores. the stripes really go well with the pattern. and linen is great! the more you wash it, the better it is. i have an old linen dress and it just feels like a soft blanket. haha.

Pretty dress. I wish I had as much sewing ability - I suppose practice makes perfect tho. I like your idea of adding the filler in the neckline to keep it from being too low. Pretty much everything I find in stores these days could use some of that neckline filler! Keep up the good work!

The use of the stripes is really wonderful. A very original Celestina!

This is adorable! So quintessentially summer. I love how you switched the fabric to make horizontal stripes on the sash part! Great job!

Thanks. I tried to say that it was Celestina but it hasn’t come up…

I love this dress! I also love linen and it’s lightness and wrinkly-ness. You did a wonderful job on this dress.

I like your version, looks so fresh and different than other Celestina’s. You should select this dress under the right pattern.
