Description
Hi! For the top I used the tunic pattern 113 from burda issue 6/2009 (without the drapped pieces). I finished the upper edge of the top with a doubled band. I also added wide straps and pleated them at the joining points. I love the cap sleeves effect that these straps create:) I also cut narrow and long pieces with various colors of the fabric to make something like fridge. For the skirt I used a simple pencil skirt pattern, eliminated the darts and just made a tunel with elastic at the waist. I finished the hem with a small pink doubled band (for this band I cut pink stripe of the same fabric). When I had finished the outfit I noticed that I had put the stripes mirrored at the skirt…grrrr….I’m never too experienced to make silly mistakes:(
Thanks for looking!

Striped is creative, interesting, and well executed. love the way you played with the direction of the stripes… The wide straps have a diagonal look and the horizontal stripes break up the vertical stripes nicely. I love also the banding around the top of the blouse and the bottom of the skirt.
forgot to say that I love your pics … you look like you are really having fun. The circle multi necklace is genius.**It stands up to your outfit nicely!

Thank you for your kind and lovely comments! The necklace has exactly the same colors with the fabric, they are made for each other:))

To tell the true, I haven’t noticed your mirroring the stripes until I read about that. I don’t think it’s a great sin:)) If you hadn’t done that your outfit just would look like a dress. I like the brightness of your outfit, the sleeves are unexpected so look original and nice, the fringe gives some playful note and I like the way the bottom of skirt is processed. I would probably do the same for the neckline but it’s because I’m not so brave :)

I wanted to make the same for the neckline, I would like it more with a monochromatic band, but I had cut the bust and it was short at the top so I needed a wider band. Thank you very much for your kind comments:)

Wow how cute is that! Love the cap-sleeve effect too. Don’t think the mirrored strip detracts at all though. Great summertime outfit!

it is adorable! I like that the stripes of top & skirt are mirorred, it gives it a little extra craziness. The outfit reminds me of a candy stick and it makes me smile. Well done!
