Had a busy day on Friday trying to get this little beauty finished. It’s only the tester but I’m delighted with the way it turned out… I’ll definately be whipping up a few more of these :D
I omitted the ruffle on the front bodice as I figured the material was busy enough. I remembered that I had some matching buttons (from the dress I deconstructed years ago) so I added them to the front. I think it looks sailor-ish… or a ‘candystriper’ (we don’t have them here, but I was watching the SATC episode where Carrie goes to look after Big post heart op… so that reminded me of it!!)
Love the pattern… try it :D

I like it, looks like a candy cane!!! With the different stripe gradient it is full of visual effects – and the buttons are the icing on the cake.

Hi everyone, thanks you so much for the lovely comments :D I found the pattern easy to make (read the instructions fully before you sew). The dress suits many different fabric types & it is easy to put your own swing on it. I’m making one for my sister with a ruffle so will be posting that asap :D Happy sewing!!!

I’m now making a coffee date dress with a peter pan collar… looks so pretty already with the floral print material. I lengthened the waistline by 6cm… I think it looks better as the original waistline is a little short. I definately recommend this pattern, even for beginners, it’s great :D
