Burda Style For people who sew

Stripes.Ruffles.Bows oh my! I really love this dress. Very comfortable. I wore it when I went out for my birthday. It kind of reminds me of a cake. I made a boat neck t-shirt dress and sewed the stripes on and hand-sewed on bows. The bottom is 2 rows of ruffles. I hand sewed the hem on the sleeves. The neckline is a ruffled peterpan collar with a bow. The neckline is reinforced with an added interfaced piece. On the front and back I sewed loose pleats. I added inseam pockets under one of the stripes. I made a black braided belt with it for when I wear it in the summer. It didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted it to, but I still love it. i did not use a pattern for this dress.

Sooo cute! How did you sew on the stripes? Are they interfaced at all? I’d love to try to my hand at something like this!

it was very easy the stripes are thin nylon stretchy mesh cute into strips and sewn on the top (not the bottom). the ruffles were hand ruffled and then sewn on with a machine. The only thing I interfaced was the neckline that i cut separately and sewed on. Thanks for liking it. anymore questions just ask :) good luck
