Description

A shirt-waist style dress made from Style Print pattern 1283, that I won in a giveaway from Debi over at My Happy Sewing Place. I made this for her Sew Grateful week in February 2012, and used view A (full skirt) with short sleeves.
The belt is also self-made, using a kit from A Fashionable Stitch

More details and more photos on my blog – I can’t really think of anything else to add here!

Material Notes

Strawberry printed material, cotton, but not normal woven – I’m not sure what its proper name is! $3 a metre at the discount table from Spotlight
Red poplin for the belt

Wowie wow, girlie! This is fab. Also loving the belt, went and bought a kit from that site the moment I read it ;) haha and I love how you matched your nails! How good is the clearance table at Spotty!! :D x

I can’t wait to see what you make with the belt kit! It’s a fun little project to do, and not something that I previously would have even considered making! That clearance table is a bit dangerous for me, especially cos I have no self-control…. I’m getting better though!! Haha :P

It’s tough at work, I am forever seeing things that I “need” haha. Yes well, I bought some pink elephants fabric (I posted a pic of it on ze blog) and that dress requires a fabric belt. I haven’t decided whether to make it in a contrasting green satin or the same fabric as the dress… maybe the green as then I can wear it with other things hehe!
