Description

I work with kids, small kids, almost ankle snappers but not quite. The weather recently got really hot and sunny. I was deeply annoyed the parents forgot sun hats so I ran up to the local excellent fabric shop and spent a small fortune on 2 meters of fabric. They must have had some new person in helping as when he was cutting the darn expensive fabric he was making such a mess of it, and inside I was screaming ‘Let me do it!!’ I did persuade him to cut it helpfully into 50cm squares and tied the cloth onto the heads of my kids at work. I know its not fantastic sun protection but better than leaving then without anything at all. When I got home I sewed up the edges and after watching the hats coming off a little easily added some elastic and it keeps it on nice and firm. The kids love the hats- I call them my strawberry pirates. The girls of course love all dressing up and the boys, well, ‘Pirates’ suits them well.
