I got very excited when I saw the ‘maryy’ dress pattern and this is what resulted! This is my first dress following a pattern so it isn’t perfect but I’m oh so happy it all worked out! Plus I love this fabric: its got strawberries on!!

Thank you, I’m a bit in love with the fabric too, even if was a little on the expensive side! And my hair seems to like the summer – recently its just got curlier and curlier! :)

Sometimes some fabrics require a bit of a splurge :) My hair likes summer better too, definitely curling better til the humidity comes however!

Oh dear, I thought it was Kat Kitson. You know that you can get good quality fabrics from St Albans market at a third of the price you get from Kat Kitson?! Also, you probably already know this, but there is a very good fabric shop in St Albans – it’s not the cheapest place, but it’s reasonable and you can get all the trimmings and haberdashery there too. If you’re willing to travel a little further, Luton has a great shop in the Bury Park area which has lots and lots of fabrics to choose from and most fabrics are £1.50 per metre. That’s where I get most of my fabric from. It’s not far from the train station – it’s well worth a look and you won’t break you money box. Thanks for the compliment on my projects. Much appreciated. xx

thanks for the advice, the market is very good here and I’ve noticed several fabric stalls before so I will be checking them out next time I’m in town! Theres a shop called fashion and fabrics which is actually at the top of my road, which is pretty handy :)
The place in Luton sounds wonderful…wow, just thinking about how much more fabric I could buy when its only 1.50 a metre!!
      :) smile and keep sewing!

It fits and it looks great on, so I’d say it’s a pretty good job! I knew you’d get the bug! I like the fabric, it’s very fresh and summery. Well done and keep them coming. The more you sew, the better at it you get. xx

Thank you, you are such a great encouragement and your right, I feel like I’m improving a bit with each thing I make! I love all your lovely dresses you’ve done and it was such fun to have a go for myself. The fabric was cath Kidson which has emptied my moneybox…but hey, I think it was worth it! :)
