This is my very first dress!
This is made from Simplicity 2884 and wasn’t as easy for a beginner as I’d have liked! I’d have had no chance understanding the instructions if it weren’t for the fact that i’m taking dressmaking classes and my teacher was able to help me! My attention to detail will always out and of course I had to add little strawberry buttons to the halter neck strap. No one will be able to see them of course, but oh well!
I’ve loved and hated making this dress in equal measures but now it’s done I love it again! I wanted something a bit different and a bit ‘vintagey’ in style. I think that’s what I ended up with! I am going to make a removable dress net for underneath now to give it a bit of flair!
it’s not an everyday kind of a dress but it was a great learning curve because I had to learn so many basic things such as invisible zippers, lining and boning!
Blogged about here-

Cotton in a strawberry print from Fabric land in the UK – £3.49 per meter (about 3 1/2 meters used I think!) plus some inexpensive polyester lightweight lining in black for the bodice. Boning used in the bodice and side invisible zipper.
