This is a simple shift-style dress and one of my favourite patterns to quickly turn pretty fabric into a versatile dress. I pretty much just used the shape of the facing to make my own collar.
Strawberry print cotton fabric from work, impulse bought after a customer was getting some cut to make an outfit for her little daughter.

wow – this dress is great! Very jealous you get to work in a place that stocks so many fabrics. I don’t mind shopping at Spotlight here in Brisbane, but sometimes I find it oh so messy!! They definately need to be tider in the way they stock their fabric – hopefully your store is not as bad as the one up here!

Thank you :)
Yeah, it can get pretty messy, I work in the Furnishings department but our Dress girls seem to keep it theirs tidy. I know alot of the other Sydney stores are tiny compared to ours so maybe that is it.

Thank you! I work at Spotlight, it’s probably the main fabric store in Australia, sadly I work in the home furnishings department but every so often a customer brings me a little treasured roll of dress fabric or I walk past some in the store and grab it, we have some really good suppliers and a lot of cute fabrics, especially kitsch ones from Japan.
