Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is a ‘copy’ of a Whistles dress (www.whistles.co.uk) that I loved, but couldn’t afford… I used a ‘how to draft a peg top skirt tutorial’ in one of my pattern making books to make the skirt and for the top I used my basic bodice block as a starting point. I also used a tutorial on how to sew narrow straps, which to my surprise wasn’t difficult at all… I am quite pleased with the result. although i would have liked “the peg top pleats” to look a bit more polished and maybe more dramatic too :-)

i like it but the skirt seems a little ill fitting. there is a pattern on here called the marie skirt that would most likely be more flattering if u were making another dress!!! looks great on u!!!!!!!!!!

Stunning! I love the pleats and I love how you’ve lined up the pleat in the bodice. You’re probably just thinking too much about the picture of the Whistles dress that you wanted and you’re unhappy because your version doesn’t look the same. But it’s a totally awesome dress in its own right. Love!!!
