Description
The pattern is an out of print McCall’s pattern (M5849) which I really enjoyed. It was the first time I ever attempted a garment that used boning and I liked working with something new. The pattern itself was easy to assemble. I also liked the gathered waist. With this lightweight cotton all the gathers give the skirt a lot of “poof.” It’s a good skirt for twirling.

As far as I can tell, these paper just catch the bleeding colour in the washing water, nothing can prevent the colours to bleed. So if your fabric bleeds dry, it will when wet too and hopefull the bleeding already done will end up in the water and will be caught by the paper… there’s nothing to loose I think. You’re welcome. Lovely fabric! Try washing the dress again with one of these colour catching traps (those little white papers that absorbe colours while washing in a washing machine- I hope i make sence!).

hmm, good idea. I wonder if those sheets will work if the color has already bled (as opposed to just keeping it from bleeding). I’ll try it anyway, thanks!

Nice dress and fabric! Too bad of the blotches! (I read your blog) On the pictures it looks like it look like interfacing that shines through the upper fabric but isn’t ;) I can imagine that when it is all over the dress you do not like it to wear!
