This was an emergency dress made 3 days before a wedding as the origional was unfit. It’s an exercise in adding folds to add interest, (in the collar), and adding details, (dino belt) to put some personality into a Simplicity pattern. (2338)
It was also an exercise in shape-shifting as I had to transition from a size 20 to a size 30 in this project to accomidate my sister’s unique shape.
Overall I would say that this classic plus-sized pattern helped us achieve the vintage feel we wanted in the time frame we had available.
I used a blended suiting. There was no description on the bolt, but it definately had a little spandex – 5%-10%. This was for added comfort.

Thank you so much. It took a while to convince her that it wouldn’t be over the top, but I think it balances out her proportions nicely.
