Start Wearing Purple Pants

Added Aug 16, 2010

Copenhagen, Denmark

So, finally I got round to trying my hand at a pair of pants. I think this is one of my favourite patterns from the burda mag ever! I love the raised pockets and pleats and for a pants-virgin, the pattern was easy enough to try :-)

I mostly stuck to the original, except I lenghtened the legs from capri to full length. If you want to see the original version, have a look at mathilde. ‘s pants. They’re fabulous.

Also, I got to use my favourite Ikat fabric (once again :). I actually didn’t have enough, so the pattern is off on the back of one leg :( I’ll wear them anyway though!

The pattern is from Burda (06/2010) mod. 105.

Material Notes

Cotton, zipper, interfacing

Oh, I just see your pants! Thanks for to tell about mine! Your pants are very different, but absolutely beautifull with this fabric! They look very good on you!

I love these pants! I’ve been looking at different patterns for this style of pants (namely, some pants that Yoshimi made a few months ago and a model in Burda’s August issue), but it’s so helpful to see your photographs — I think I’ll use the same pattern! You did a lovely job — the pants look well-made, and your fabric choice and styling are awesome as well.

Love the pants! Also do I sense a Gogol Bordello reference?

Cool – what an awsome outfit! I really like the whole combination; it looks pleasingly ‘tough’ and yet tailored. I particularly like the trousers in ikat.

I was trying to work out which pattern you used, and if it was on this website in electronic form? I know you said it was Burda 06/2010, #150, but I was struggling to find it. It wouldn’t be this one, apparently in March, would it?

They are awesome! Trousers in a print fabric are on my list for fall.
