I made this jacket a few years ago. I kept having ideas float around in my head about a really awesome Rebel Alliance jacket and I drew out several designs. I came up with the symbol on the sleeve; it’s a mash up of the rebel alliance symbol and the Jedi symbol. I didn’t use a pattern.
The jacket is made out of rust broadcloth, and the grey sections are pleather. It closes in the front with a grey separable zipper.
The pleather piece on the side was REALLY hard to attach. I had to rip it off and reattach it several times. The rebel alliance/Jedi symbol was sewn on top of the other piece and painted around the edges in black.
