“The Devil wears Prada” is my favourite movie and I always wanted to make the La Rue-Bag that Anne Hathaway as Andie wears in one scene. Finally (years later) I found this faux leather from which I thought, it looks like the original. And I had luck that I got all the accessories like brass carabiners and rivets. My intention was to make it true to original.
I made the pattern myself just from the movie pictures and it was quite easy. The inner part is made of cotton fabric (normally used for pyjamas) and I applicated some small cases for mobile phone, lipstick and anything else.
The original bag has a tassel and I made this of faux leather, too. At last there was the adjustable belt to sew.
Someone published a free pattern for this: http://web.archive.org/web/20070302100521/www.hotpatterns.com/downloads/larue_bag.pdf
(it will take some seconds until the download starts)
Unfortunately it is too small for me, or it was my printer’s fault. That’s why I had to create my personal pattern, but it was very easy.

There is a German Ebay auction in the moment! Good luck! :-D (please copy the whole link into your browser, it does not work from here)
(but it is not difficult to sew! you only need to get a good leather and the rivets)

Hi, unfortunately not, I love it myself, sorry. I totally understand you, Sometimes I find an auction with this bag on Ebay but it’s ways too ex pensive and the biddings show that this bag is still so popular. Bye, Philomenia

Hallo Philomenia, die ist ja fantastisch. Besonders toll finde ich ja deine kleinen Innentaschen (für Handy usw. Da kann Prada neidisch werden, gratuliere :-))
