Several months ago I found this green fabric at The Fabric Store in Brisbane and thought this would be great for a blouse to wear to a St Patrick’s Day party I attend each year with my Irish relatives. I used Burda pattern #128, 9/2011. It was very easy to construct and as it was quite long in length, I decided to add vents in the side seams in case I wanted to wear it out over my pants. It was a very hot and humid night and this blouse was very cool and comfortable to wear. I am very happy with it and will make this pattern again and have a request from my daughter for one as well.

Thank-you again for more lovely comments. I would not have made this blouse either if I hadn’t found BurdaStyle online. I look through my Burdas and often don’t like what I see and then on this site, I see someone else’s take on a pattern and then I am inspired. I have made several things lately (which I am yet to post) that I wouldn’t have made if I hadn’t viewed them through this site.

Thanks Irina!! My Irish relatives are a hoot and we have a fun time each year. I haven’t made anything special before but now they all want me to sew for them for next year. I will have to be on the look out for emerald green fabric!!

Thank-you Binita, I did have a great time. My Irish relatives know how to put on a party. They all want me to make them green tops for next year, so I will be out hunting for Irish green fabric.

Nice. You will be well camouflaged (in style) among the revellers. And congratulations on getting a mannequin. Its on my list too right after knitting machine ;D

Thank-you; yes I did look like I could hide well among the revelers or even a rain forest. The mannequin has not arrived yet; due any day!! A knitting machine will be fun. My Mum had one years ago and loved it, but when she moved to Australia (Brisbane), she left it behind and at 83, still knits by hand the most beautiful things. Fancy tea cosies are her thing at the moment.

Thanks Poppykettle. Did you wear your beautiful Marfy top yesterday??? I have the pattern for that top now, so I will be making a muslin this week. I think I am a little larger than the pattern but will make all adjustments to fit as I cannot stop thinking of yours. In fact I copied and printed your photo to my pattern so I will be inspired.

Thank-you for your kind comments. The fabric was lovely to sew as well and so nice to wear. I did have to wash it first as it had a strong chemical smell on it and that always worries me.

Thank-you so much. It really is quite easy. Check the length from under the arm to the hem; you may not want it to be so long and it is a waste of fabric otherwise.
