Working on Self Stitched September and had to make a basic…denim shorts. Actually, as I was going through my fabrics and patterns, this was already cut out from ? years ago! Made from McCall’s 3132 (probably out of print) and a stretch denim, they are reall comfortable and the fit is perfect. I ended up having to take in the sides a bit, so it made my front pockets almost non-existant. Also, after reading some people’s postings about working with stretch denim, I plan to cut out some rear pockets tomorrow to avoid the thinning/underwear line issue. May even add top stitching to the hem. I didn’t originally because it’s a very deep hem – 2 1/2 inches. Any thoughts on those ideas are very welcome!! Other than that, I like them – wore them all day and they were very comfortable.
Please exuse the photos – in the mirror… I also made pattern alterations and notes for when I make them again…
