Burda Style For people who sew
Description
The ubiquitous draped cardi that all the stores have lately, done in an hour (give or take).
I took the pattern for the sleeves from a sweater in my closet.
A big square (actually a rectangle), 2 slits for armholes and sleeves – that’s all.

great job! very versatile! what was the size of your rectangle, and where did you place the slits?

I used the entire width of the fabric – 160cm. That’s the measurement from one arm to the other.
The length is 1.1 meter: 40cm above the shoulders, 23 cm long slits for armholes, and the rest is below armpits.
The distance between the slits is my shoulders width – 38cm (but you should measure your own shoulder width).
I also rouded the slits slightly (to look like a very narrow lense shape).
The sleeves took additional 60cm of fabric.
