I made this bag for the my beach trips. It was really easy!! I was inspired by this square knot outdoor fabric. It’s reversible with pockets on both sides. I used large grommets and some twisted rope for the strap. I learned how to tie a square knot, so that is at the top of the bag. I realized the other day when I was at the beach that you can pull the knotted ends up and it sinches the top together to keep it closed while you’re in the water.
I like to have the smaller pockets on the inside. I made it so it fits my husband’s and I cellphones, chapstick, and his wallet. Each one is a double pocket. It held quite bit and it held up. I put my towel, sunblock, 3 bottles of water, my wallet, my sunglasses/case, a little bag with a comb and hair stuff in it. The front 2 pockets were perfect to hold my treasures I found on the beach. I added 2 lrg grommets on each end of the bag incase I wanted to add a hook to hook something on.
I was really hoping to get photos on the beach with my bag, but husband wouldn’t do it.
I paired my bag with my new favorite jcrew tank i got as a steal from the thrift store, my organic cotton Levi cutoff shorts, my swim suit underneath, my go to favorite hat, and some red rainbow flip flops, and of course my smile and my new copper top hair.
Cotton/linen stripe fabric, outdoor navy square knot cotton, large grommets, rope, thread.
