i want spring NOW!!!
although i love dramatic sleeves, as this was my first dress i didn’t feel ready for the challenge. so, sleeveless she is. i always want to hop around when i’m in this dress… then i remember i frankensteined the back at the neck and said hopping around will give me an igor hump.

Hmm, oona, did you line the front pleats of the skirt portion up with the front bust darts? I much prefer your dress to how mine is turning out, with the skirt darts more to the sides. But I don’t think I want to pick the seams to fix it…

I like it without the sleeves. You are seriously good at finding the best fabric.

I love the fabric too! I’ve been wanting to do a sleeveless Danielle. I think whatever fabric is in the background (maybe a tablecloth) is really cute too…it would make a funky lining! I love doing these patterns in really casual fabric. I’m working on a summery casual Cate…. Keep up the fantastic work!!

a pun AND a quote from rocky?? i’m in heaven.
thank you all for the compliments! my husband is wondering why i’m smiling at my computer screen like a loon…
olar, i have a small bust too, it measures to 34 but there ain’t much there. i sewed the darts at the smallest size, then kept taking them in till it fit. then i centered the long strip below the top, cut the excess off the ends, and made the pleats bigger on the skirt so that all the pieces matched. i’m SURE there was an easier way to do that…

You are in a roll! Great stuff. I am going to try this dress, it looks so pretty on you. Please tell me, is it difficult to get the top to fit? I have very small bust…

Wow! If this is your first dress I can’t wait to see what you can do with a little more confidence. Your fit is absolutely perfect and has a very finished look. You didn’t scrimp on the details either. GREAT job! You will definitely turn some heads when you “spring” this one on your friends. (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun)
