This is my new favourite dress! My mum let me loose in the loft last night and gave me two dress she wore in the 70s/80s. Of these was this dress, it came half way down my calfs and had amazing puff ball sleeves, which I liked for being retro but didn’t feel myself in. So I have let out the side seams slightly, added a few darts in, detached the sleeves, cut, hemmed and reattached and also lifted the bottom hem to just above my knees. And the best bit? The dress has pockets! I love pockets! I have left the square neckline to keep some of the original dress features. So here it is, my vintage Laura Ashley dress remade for 2013!
I thoroughly enjoyed having a picnic is the park wearing it although maybe shouldn’t have tried climbing a tree in it!
