I made this suit using my own pencil skirt pattern and a vest pattern from Simplicity. I edited the vest after the photo was taken to make it double breasted (because the vest turned out too big on me – but the necessary alteration actually improved the design in my opinion)
The cloth is a DIVINE wool/silk blend in a gray tweed. I found it in an old out of the way fabric shop and it one me over with it’s beguiling flecks of blue and brown mixed with heather gray, and the drape and texture sealed the deal.

I love this. The vest is very charming with that collar. i also love the background fence or wall.

Thanks! The background is an old cupboard made of barn board with about 75 years of paint layers that have slowly chipped and flecked. And to think some people would strip and repaint that… !
