I’ll make these pencil pants again, but am not going to mess around with the front zipper and will instead go for the invisible side zipper. I stared and stared at the directions on how to put in the front zipper and looked up techniques but couldn’t figure it out. I kinda wanted a side zip anyways. I might shorten the zipper since it ends at the widest part of my hips and sticks ou a bit.
Next time I make these, I’ll also add more height to the back waist. When I sit down, the back waist pulls down. To make more room in the crotch area (deeper) I had to use a 1/4" seam allowance, and then 5/8" for the sides of the crotch. I also added a second set of darts in the back to cinch the waist down a bit.
Any advice on the pulling in the front or bumm lines in the back? I’m new and am trying to wrap my head around what to adjust.
I used STRETCH DENIM for this project: http://www.joann.com/fashion-denim-7-oz-printed-stretchdenim-multi-floral/zprd_12035218a/
I have since tried to make these pants out of a non-stretch denim and I couldn’t move. I tried letting the seam allowance out, but still can’t sit down. :(
