I’ve been loving mullet-dresses lately, and wanted to make a test version of this dress before I splurge on a Liberty print I’ve fallen in love with. HOWEeeverr I totally love this version! I don’t know if anything could top it.
I used the bodice from the famous Burda peplum top, and traced the skirt off of a dress I already owned. I added some pleats in the skirt to make a bit of a tulip-skirt. I had a huge amount of trouble with the neck and arm hems, and I’ll need to re-do them once I get my hands on some bias tape!
Bonus: I used the scraps to make a kimono- cardigan, in case I want to wear the most coordinated outfit ever.
