This was an easy project to make, I made three handbags and a coin purse in one day. The most important thing is that you love what you do. I fell in love with sewing recently and I can’t seem to stop. I dream of sewing, fabric and gifts.
You can decide to you use a handbag that has no zipper for a “tote” look. Or you can add a zipper for a more practical use. I added a ribbon rose and attached it with a clothing pin and an old button from my military uniform. :). This bag is revirsible so I can match my clothing to the color of the print.
I did not use a pattern, I just made it up as I went along. I just made sure that the bag was deep enough for me.
I also added 2 pleats to the middle of both sides and inside the lining. A total of 8 pleats.
2 different prints of fabric, I bought 2 yards of each, but just 2 fat quarters will do. A sewing machine, thread, scissors, ribbon, button, zipper(your choice) and fusible interfacing(your choice)
I love prints on fabric, so I went for a very girly fabric that would be great for spring, but you can make this bag any time of the year, and change the fabric according to the season.
