This is my third Anda dress because its easy when I need a dress fast. I feel like I have had no time for sewing over the past 6 months. Hopefully that will change soon, for I miss sitting at my sewing machine on rainy days.
For this project I used a soft drape light weight polyester knit print that is easy to pack when traveling. On the neckline I decided to add a ruffle to give the dress a feminine look and replaced the sewn on casing / elastic belt with an extra long tie belt that can wrap around my waist 3 times. I did not add any elastic to the waistline. To secure the belt in the right place I used the BurdaStyle Crochet Loops technique. To give the look interesting shape I added a shaped band to the bottom of the dress that is slightly smaller to create gathers at the bottom of the dress skirt. The band is shaped into a taper at bottom with darts in the front and back. You can’t see it in the photos but I also added hidden pockets to the side seams. Overall I am very happy with my creation.
