Ooooh, I love Spring. I definitely have Spring Fever. How do you know it’s Spring? It gets warm and you dig out your kid’s duck umbrella for shade. Like a lot of my projects, this dress came about because I was in a fabric store and found a beautiful, bright piece of batik on clearance. This was obviously a sign that I was supposed to turn it into a fun, springy outfit. I decided that turquoise and blue accents would make happy contrast against the yellow batik. A few yoyos at the top added a playful spirit.
This dress is modeled off of a very simple pattern from another dress I made. The main part is only three pieces, plus the sash and sleeves.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
