1 May 2012: I’m facing down my need for a spring jacket and very specific wants. I’m planning on using the Burda pattern as a base and making pocket and collar modifications. Wish me luck! I’ve blogged about this here: http://thevintagedesignshop.com/2012/05/01/hello-project-runway-behind-most-jackets-lies-a-zipper-or-three-in-wait/
3 May 2012: I’ve spent some time going over this awesome zipper tutorial: http://projectsbyjess.blogspot.ca/2012/02/exposed-zipper-pocket-tutorial-bomber.html. I am at the point where I’m ready to snip! Decided to quit tonight while I was ahead.
4 May 2012: Whoohoo, zippers are done thanks to the great tutorial. Darts are done too and looking good. Next up: sewing the body together and next bit of tricky business, starting the hood mod.
28 May 2012: I finished all the zippers and decided to go symmetrical in the end for better fit. The hood is a success. I just need to attach the other sleeve, do the lining and decide whether to have button or zipper closures for the cuff. Another blog post about progress with pictures: http://thevintagedesignshop.com/2012/05/29/bomber-jacket-update-who-needs-two-sleeves-anyway/
