This spring I’ve made up a list of six garments to sew, and this khaki pencil skirt was the first to materialize. I drafted it off my skirt sloper with a contoured waistband, single welt pockets, and an inverted box pleat. As usual the skirt is fully lined, and I installed an invisible zipper through the waistband.
I have more information and a few more pictures on my blog and a tutorial for drafting and constructing a contoured waistband using silk organza, muslin, and rayon seam tape here

Skirt looks great. Always a fan of non-black options for work too.
