Description

I struggle to restrain myself from buying fabrics when visiting Tessuti and this is a good example of yet another visit. I used pattern K from the Stylish Dress Book 1, and I like the way that the fabric sits for it. I was a bit worried about making it as I haven’t constructed a shirt before — cuffs, easing and the like, but it was a fun challenge. I used the selvedge of the fabric instead of the hem. As I didn’t do the curve along this edge it is a little shorter.. I found cute gold edged cream buttons in the city for the front too.

I was inspired to try it by IroIro’s Cath Kidston shirt: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/cath-kidston-boat-print-top

Material Notes

Blue + white flecked cotton, Japanese I think… [not sure if much is left in the blue colour scheme.. but they do have others.. including a super cute coral] and 5x buttons – cream + gold

Thanks Nikki! It was fun to make and the fabric was lovely and easy to sew and even more so to wear!
