This time I tried to modify pattern 124 from Burda magazine 8/09 by adding sleeves to the dress (pattern was sleeveless): I created a sleeve by using a different pattern which included sleeves. I traced the sleeve part of the pattern and changed my pattern accordingly. I then had to cut my newly constructed sleeve pattern open again to make it narrower, as I used Jersey and therefore needed tighter sleeves. When trying it on, I noticed that the fabric was twisted. Okay, I fixed it. After all of that, the sleeve pattern is finally finished. I also made a sporty sweatshirt with long sleeves, based on my burda dress-pattern.

Ja, vielleicht 5-7 cm kürzer. ;) In think this portal and the possibility to look on photos of selmade garment helps al lot to reach decisions about things like style, fit, sense of propotions and so on.

Yellow is a wonderful color for you! The sweater does not make you less slim than the dress. You are good looking in both!

Hello ralarkins,
… my english is not good… at first it takes time to understand your text. Sorry! I will try to answer: Yes I add the sleeve estension and the thumb hole. There are really no problems with the grips on my poles – however I often roll up the sleeves. I think you are right as far as concerned the lenght. My dress (last project) makes me look slim but this sweatshirt not. ;)

Your English is better than my German which is limited to (but not necessarily spelled correctly) Ja, Nein, Sprechen Zie English? I think the length would be really cute about 5-7.5cm shorter unless you are concerned with your backside coverage.

Did you add the sleeve extension and add the thumb hole? And does it cause problems with the grips on your poles? I had some rubbing/irritation issues when I did that to a diveskin sleeve. Overall, I like the top, but I find the length awkward. It looks like it says “i’m a shirt (too long), no, I’m a tunic (too short)”. Good color choice.
