These birdies on their branch are a sort of mobile for a baby… my friend Alice from my bookclub is patiently awaiting the arrival of her little girl. The pattern for the birdies is available online at the Spool blog. There is a flickr group where you can see dozens of birdies people have made, and there are a couple Burdastyle members who have made them lately also.

Lovely! they are so colorful and well sewn; it seems they like to stay outdoor very much ;) I didn’t use a real branch because i wanted something softer (and to use a perfect fabric leftover), but i think I’ll do something like yours for me, this time.
