Gents natty tartan waistcoat with hand stitched buttonholes and gold plated buttons. The pattern was an adaptation of a Kwick Sew pattern, as the one I wanted is not yet available in the UK.
Royal Naval Association tartan, fusible horsehair interfacing, heavy crepe back polyester satin, silk thread

Very special Royal Naval Association gold plated buttons, to go with the tartan. Nice fabric to work with, but pricey! About £57 a meter… One tries not to bog this sort of thing up for the customer!
I’ll try to get a picture of the skirt I did for the gentleman’s wife: dead simple, but rather smart.

this waistcoat is splendiferous! lol. With handsewn button holes too, that’s impressive. I like the buttons too.
