This is my first attempt at a printable pattern, and I picked the Minna dress. I thought a heavier fabric would bring out the gathers and pleats out more….well, I chose the waaaaay wrong fabric for that. It makes the dress look very bulky OOOPPPS – - > Ohhh well, lesson learned!!! But I really like the Minna pattern and will be attempting it again, as soon as I find the perfect fabric for it.
P.S – - – I still have to finish the neck line and straps so pardon my pins!
P.S2 – - – I used a lighter weight cotton for bias strips hence the yellow pickaboo…
Gray w/ gold accent heavy Polyester – - – BIG NO NO

it’s a little bit bulky…but I love it… just a theory thought…may be if the gathers (is it the name?) are reduced, even if you use thick fabric it won’t be looked bulky…I think it can still be made even without gathers…may be just pleats, instead pleats+gathers? well, just a theory of mine (^.^)…

I love this pattern and just cut out my first version. I like how you brought out the pattern details with the weight of the fabric.

Hey! You finished it! It looks great and when you’ll wear it and move around it won’t seem bulky no more. Do sew it again, I love this pattern also! Enjoy!

So far it looks great. I bet it will look differently once you try it on. I understand the effect you are looking for. But I like the fullness this fabric creates.
