I have been paging through Burda magazines nad marking off what I plan to sew post my baby tummy! My daughter is due in 3 weeks time – yay! I made this red dress and beaded belt last year when I wasn’t pregnant but it has come in very handy as a maternity dress to wear to smarter functions like weddings. The belt originally had press studs at the back but I replaced these with ribbon to accomodate my bump. I remember going to the hairdresser the day of the function and furiously beading the belt to finish it in time!
Red stretch fabric, batting for the belt, red beads, ribbon
My sewing teacher helped me cut it off from a vest – very simple vest top part and gathered bottom part – we copied a dress Madonna was wearing on the cover of Marie Claire magazine
