Sparkly sequined biker jacket.
I’m trying to get really comfortable with the biker jacket pattern by making several versions in the hopes of getting a bit better each time.
This time I decided to make the body and arms out of black sequined fabric, with the collar, facing and waistband made out of black faux leather. I left the facing off of the sleeves, as I didn’t want them to be quite as rigid as the body.
Really loved working with the sequin fabric, it’s a lot more forgiving than other fabrics as you can barely notice any stitching, so any slightly wonky topstitching is almost invisible. The only downside were the hundreds of sequins that are all my workbench and floor.
Decided to leave the pockets out this time, as I thought it would look too cluttered with zips against sequins.
Finished the jacket with a watermelon pink satin lining. Sealed the seams with clear nail polish so that they wouldn’t unravel like the last time I attempted a jacket lining.
Black Sequin fabric, black iron on interfacing, black leatherette fabric, watermelon-pink satin lining, silver zip, clear nail polish for sneaky seam sealing.
