Okay, so it has only taken me almost a year to upload these photos. There was a discussion in the forum about making gloves way back in May last year, and it prompted me to look for these gloves I made for my son’s space costume several years back. Here is my three year old modelling them, tho’ they are much the worse for wear four years after they were made.
I had a pair of child sized gardening gloves I was going to use for a pattern but just decided to do this instead. To make a pattern, I basically just traced around my son’s hand onto paper, then added seam allowance. These were made out of a stretch fabric. I didn’t do a separate thumb. The first pair wouldn’t even fit on his hand, because I didn’t have enough seam allowance.
I’ve just been going through old photographs and found the costume with the gloves while they were still new, so I’ll upload some pictures of how they looked then worn with the spacesuit.
