I was inspired a while back by the dress in a still shot of Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music (I included it in the project photos). I’d been waiting for the right material to find its way to me, and a couple of weeks ago, it did.
The dress was made from a vintage sheet that was in wonderful condition. I used the Burda magazine May 2010 dress pattern #110 for the bodice portion of the dress. I just omitted the cap sleeves because they looked unflattering on me. For the skirt, I used one of my patterns for a simple 4-panel full skirt.
