New York, New Yo...
ver since I saw “The Sound of Music” starring Julie Andrews when I was six years old, I wanted to run up a hillside singing selections from the film’s score. Needless to say I didn’t have many friends. I was listening to Maria and the six Von Trapp children sing “Do Re Mi” while I cleaned out my art closet when I pulled out my forgotten piece of brown cotton. To make this skirt I used the skirt pieces of a Vintage Vogue Pattern and managed to construct a simple waistband using two two-inch wide strips of cotton fabric. To add fullness to the skirt, I put a full-length crinoline underneath using the Romantic Tulle Skirt tutorial. I wish I could tell you more about how I made this skirt, but I honestly wasn’t paying enough attention. On a skill level, this skirt was super easy. Now I have something to wear when the weather gets warmer. Besos! Nicole Porter www.nicoleporter.com
