So named because it’s been made from a pair of narrow curtains (drapes) recently thrifted for something like £1 from a local charity shop. Do you remember in the film when Maria made play clothes for the children from the old curtains in her bedroom?
The pattern comes from a Japanese sewing book and is very straightforward. I love the rows of straight stitching down the front of this blouse, plus the Japanese ribbon sewn at the base of the opening.
