We decided to go to Perth for Oz Comic-Con the weekend just gone. One day we’d already planned to wear our Merlin costumes (my Morgana is in my studio), but needed a costume for the other day. So I made my third Doctor Who companion costume – Oswin Oswald. I’ve previously done Donna Noble (Fires of Pompeii in my studio) and Amy Pond. The second photo is the original costume.
This was a quick & easy sew. I do wish it didn’t cling right across my tummy, but that’s what you get with stretch fabrics and this style of dress. It’s not something I’d wear outside of the costume, but that’s just because it isn’t my style. It’s most definitely wearable for everyday if I chose!
The dress is view B of McCalls 6612, with the sleeves from view A. Fabric is some red interlock from Spotlight. It’s quite thick fabric and I wouldn’t be comfortable in it on a hot day.
