  I understood you used a book. I meant I would like to see the steps for drafting such a skirt (like measure the waist, hips, length; add x cm for ease; draw a trapezoidal shape with height x and base length y…). I’m just cheap you see, want the tips for free ;)

  Actually, the pattern drafting book I used was Sew What! Skirts. It gives you instructions on how to draft a pattern for an A-line or straight skirt, then lets you choose length and add options like side or back zip, elastic waist, slits, tiers, etc. It’s a fantastic book! As much as I love working with preprinted patterns, sometimes it’s a breath of fresh air to use something that you know is going to fit perfectly the first time. I will take a picture of Sophie wearing the skirt today and post it!

  I’m also interested in tailoring patterns (will try it out some day when I dare), could you post a how-to on how you made this pattern?
