Wellington, New ...
Another dress from another re-released Vintage Vogue pattern, this time from 1953! (V1043) What can I say? I loves the 1950’s dresses, oh yes.
I was a bit unsure about this pattern, so it took me a while to make it up. I think it was the drawings on the front that put me off – they made it seem a little dowdy, and lets face it, they’re kinda odd looking. Hmmm. But I gave it a go anyway, and I must admit to being quite pleasantly surprised! I haven’t made up the belt for it yet, but it doesn’t really need it I don’t think. :-)
(And yes, these photos were taken in the middle of my house. Right between my bedroom and the front bedroom, in fact. There should be a walk-in wardrobe appearing here sometime soon. That’s the plan, anyway. Oh, and gib on the walls. And the ceiling. And the hole in the floor is getting filled in. Hmmm. It’s rather strange sewing in a destruction zone!)
Craft-weight cotton with a Kowhai flower printed all over it. (That’s a native New Zealand flower, for those non-New Zealanders out there. ;-)
Trousers, blazers, and blouses in cool neutrals have model-off-duty style.
