Irish Step Dancing Costume that I made for myself.
Made of Royal Blue Dupioni silk, with appliqués made of glitter dot, stretch lame. Sleeves and pleats are Sequined/ embroidered Tulle. Dress is lined with a cotton and Brocade.

Modified the skirt to make is slimmer, added length to the top to make it a slightly dropped waist.

Thank you for all the nice comments! it’s a heavyweight (but light in feeling) stiffener inside of the skirt, which acts as a backing for the appliques, which makes them easier to satin stitch. A second layer is also put inside the skirt to keep it stiff.
It’s an Irish dancing dress.
