Another impulse fabric buy when I spotted some I couldn’t resist. It’s a really soft cotton and it has patches of fake fur on it. I knew just which pattern I was going to use on it too, from October 2011 Burda magazine, no.120.
My first attempt at front and back princess seams with thanks to the creator of this link http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/14740/princess-seams-and-other-treacherous-curves/page/all . It was actually for tall sizes and fitted me perfectly without any alterations so I’ll definitely be making more use of them from now on! Was really straightforward to make as well which is a major plus for me!
I love the boat neck line and it looked great when I tried it on before adding the cap sleeves (nearly left them off) so I may well make it again without them.
Link to pattern = http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/102011-dress-with-galloon-lace-detail as I can’t get the “based on existing pattern” bit to work.

I’m sure I get a few weird looks when wearing it as I stroke the fur patches occasionally. Not had to fend anyone else off from trying as yet though :-)

I bet it’s wonderfully tactile. You might have some problems with people wanting to stroke you ;)

Gorgeous!!! Your dress looks so nice and I would love to feel the fabric. It looks very cuddly.
