Highland Park, N...
I was forced to make a slipcover for my sofa because I have the sweetest, but the most destructive doggie in the world. While I am at work he routinely eats my sofa pillows at the corners. So I decided to just cover the whole sofa. I am most proud of the mitered corners on the pillows and the piping.
It was a lot of work , and as you can see, it is not perfect, but I like the result. Unfortunately, halfway through I found out that Petey liked it too!
I bought the fabric for $4.00 a yard and I bought 15 yards. The dotted border for the pillows was a bargain at $2.00 a yard. Fabric Warehouse in Rahway, NJ has the best , cheapest fabric in the whole Northeast, I think!
(I can post more pix and a step by step of the process but I heavily followed these two tutorials.)
This first one is by far the best tutorial for anything I have ever seen. She is so complete and this was BEFORE video tutorials http://slipcover.vrya.net/And for the mitered pillows I used this tutorial. Also very well done.
