Meet sock monkeys Wallace and John-Joe! Me and my boyfriend made these together for my boyfriend’s little nieces. I did the sewing and he stuffed their little sockbodies with ripped-up batting. It was fun to see how two ordinary pairs of socks could come alive and develop such character. So, naturally, we had to name them.
There are tons of tutorials on how to sew sock monkeys online with detailed diagrams on how to cut up the pair of socks to make the whole monkey. That’s really all you need: a pair of socks, something to fill the monkeys with, buttons for the eyes and some embroidery floss to make them smile. Sewing on the limbs can be a bit tricky but the rest is a breeze.
We can only hope that the little nieces will like Wallace and John-Joe as much as we do :)

Wallace looks like he is an evil genius plotting world domination whilst John-joe seems a kindly soul who is just pleased to be a sock monkey! That’s Pringle for you!
They are really cute, I am going to raid the odd sock bag soon!
